Flagship Scholarship Guidelines
What are Flagship Scholarships?
Flagship Scholarships aim to support summer and Capstone Year intensive Chinese language and cultural studies in Chinese Flagship approved programs for undergraduate students participating in the San Francisco State University Chinese Flagship Program. Flagship Scholarships are competitive awards granted to Flagship students meeting all eligibility requirements exclusively for Language Flagship-approved summer and academic-year overseas programs. Flagship Scholarships are to be used in conjunction with additional financial support and are considered "last dollar" scholarships.
Who Should Apply?
Flagship Scholarships are open to SF State Chinese Flagship Program undergraduate participants who are planning to complete either a Chinese Flagship-approved summer intensive program, or the Language Flagship Overseas Capstone Year Program in China. Flagship Scholarships are open only to U.S. Citizens.
When to Apply?
Flagship Scholarship applications are accepted once per academic year during the Spring semester. Flagship students planning to apply for a summer program should complete the Flagship Scholarship application in the Fall prior to their planned summer study date. Flagship students planning to apply for a Fall-start Capstone Year Program should apply in the Fall prior to the anticipated Capstone Fall start date, and indicate “Fall entry” on the application form.
